Theme - Durga Puja of our club is in its 69th year, this year the young generation is taking the onus of organizing it. In a summer noon member were engaged in puja meeting in the club room, with dazzling sunshine all around, showing no silver line of cooling the temperature. Suddenly a Shalikh bird came & set on the varranda of club room, tired and drowsing. A Member of the club gave the pot for the bird it drank and flew away everyones was delighted and rejoices. A junior member remarked that he has got information through internet that numbers of bird were dying due to Global warming. So they are soliciting to everyone to keep a pot poured with water at any external part of house for the birds to drink. Another member remembers his childhood when a lot of nets of variouss birds were founded on the big tree before their club room, with chirping of birds throughout the day. After cutting the tree the birds lost their nets and flew away. Yes, true the result of cutting the tree anywhere, illegally and unscientifically, has caused the balance of nature to be destroyed. This inspired the theme of our puja. We can reach out to many people with our massage through this medium of a theme based durga puja. We are committed to perform there moral duty of protecting the environment by this effort. Pot poured with water for birds to drink and survive.

Activty - Our Organization “HARIJAN KALYAN SANGH†was established in 1946 under West Bengal society Registration Act XXVI of 1961 registered No- S/8987. Our Club has been running philanthropic organization and serving the poor and needy people by its social welfare like as Education, Computer, Gym, Games, Sports, Social and cultural activities. Every year it also organizes health camps, blood donation camps and free medical clinic. In spite of all the multi-cultural activities we celebrate Sarbojanin Durgotsab and Laxmi puja with pomp and traditional way and also undertake some social and cultural responsibility to ensure all our future generation inherits the rich cultural heritage and enhance their cultural, artistic and social experience.
