Theme - "Kattayani Salankara Bangshe Parampara" World’s oldest tree is Bamboo, which is technically a herb. It still exists in the deepest of woods of the Himalayas and essential to the ecosystem of the habitat. New species of animal and plants are in a continuous creation. Bamboo is an integral part of this ecosystem maintaining nature’s balance. The old saints and wise men knew this, so did the local villagers. Hence there was a ban on trekking beyond a particular height, and they also kept their domesticated animals off it to keep the ecosystem of the Himalayas unharmed, unaffected and intact. Through hundreds of years this verbal prohibition was maintained. Then the British came to the country and broke all the rules maintained by the indigenous people of the mountains. Industrial revolution took its toll on nature, timber yard, tea industry and petrol rig was established. Roadway was made sacrificing thousands of trees. Farther deforestation took place as electricity and telephone tower made its way through the country. The nature is gravely endangered in current time. Glaciers are melting, rivers are drying up and concrete is taking over the greenery. Thus it is the high time to return to the nature. That is why our prayer to Maa Durga, daughter of the Himalayas, is to bring back our forest. It is time return to the forest, which had been the integral part of our lineage, our ancestry. That should be our homage to our forest goddess, Maa Durga.
